During my teenage years I was unfortunately subjected to some medications that I believe led to my hair loss. I first noticed my hair was thinning when I was 17... but didn't realize the extent of what was to come until my 20th birthday. By 20 I already had a bald spot on my crown. I can't use Rogaine, and spironolactone really messes up my body.
I am now 30 and the only way I can wear my hair is up in a teased bun. I don't think I can even pull this off for much longer. I am starting to educate myself on wigs so that I can someday take the plunge and shave my head.
I imagine there will be a sense of liberation (and also sadness) as I take the clippers to my hair.
