- I AM A MOM OF A 13 YEAR OLD GIRL TRYING TO DEAL WITH ALOPECIA WHICH IS CURRENTLY GETTING WORSE THAN IT HAS EVER BEEN. SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THIS AT THE AGE OF 2. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING A VACUUM SEAL PROSTHESIS FROM LOCKS OF LOVE,, CAN HARDLY WAIT TO GET MY DAUGHTER BACK-- SHE AHS BECOME WITHDRAWN W/ A GREAT REDUCTION IN SELF CONFIDENCE WE TELL HER ALL THE TIME SHE IS BEAUTIFUL NO MATTER WHAT AND WE WERE ALL WILLING TO SHAVE OUR HEADS W/ HER IF SHE WANTED US TO!!!!

I know how hard alopecia can be; I have had it for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of girls and women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!"
