I'm 21 and newlywed. I just moved to the States from Canada after getting married in August '08. I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata when I was about 11 years old and lost about 75 percent of my hair. It all grew back and since then has resurfaced regularly but has been less extreme. In Canada I was going for cortisone injections ever 6 weeks and it pretty much all grew back but I haven't had injections for the past 6 months and now am looking for a good Dermatologist to go to here in Tennessee. So if you know one, please let me know!!!

Hi,
thanks for your comments, my daughter is 21 and she is coping fine after 8 years of AT. I was just sounding off really and wondered if any other parents had felt overprotective at times. Congratulations on your marriage by the way and best wishes for your future together.
