Wow it has been a long time since I wrote anything about myself. Last time was 2009. I am now going into my 5th year with alopecia. I could not even pronounce it correctly when I first got it. Well that sure has changed. I honestly have become use to not having hair. I still have not had the chutzpah (yet) to go with out a piece on but I think that this summer may be it! I want to thank you all for always sharing your stories good and bad. Thank you. I will try to be more involved, I have a lot to say...Peace

Funny you should mention the CSO. I must have painted every square inch of that place, (including the black seats) back around 2005 and 2006. I'll send you an email and we'll catch up. ;)
My name is mark, and we met at Redfords Pub on Halsted St. Might have been 1979. The Judy Roberts Trio was playing on a weeknight, and the owner of the place introduced us. I remember it was a Wednesday evening because I was on my way home from a union meeting. I also remember giving you a Gershwin cassette because you had mentioned that you liked his music. The next time I saw you was on my birthday, and it was a night I will never forget.
Hey you lady!!! I am so so very sorry I have been out of touch! I hope all is well with you. Lets get together soon. I have about 11 more weeks int this pregnancy then it will be harder for me to get out for a while. jess
Cinder, you have been through a lot. I'm sorry about your brother, and saying goodbye to some friends is hard. And I've heard from many women whose families just don't get it.
After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" You can find out more on my page -- and it's available on this site under "Bookshelf." It might help you with your feelings about alopecia, and also would be a great source of information for your family.
As far as wigs go, I have both human hair and synthetic. I keep going short to long, long to short, red to strawberry blonde to caramel blonde, etc. Yes, it would be wonderful to have hair back but if it grew in tomorrow I don't know what I would do, it's been so long since I've cared for my hair! Wigs are fun for me, confusing for my friends!

Hello Cinder: I was wondering if you are the girl who used to work at the Gaslight Club in Chicago, back in the late 70's?
Hey! How are you, it's been awhile! I'm glad you like the brow. I think it is very natural looking!
