- Hi, I was diagnosed with Alopecia when I was 16-17 in high school. My hair would fall out in patches and thin all over. Some of it grew back when I was i college but never was the same. Over the past year, it has gotten so much worse clumps of hair fall out and thinness all over. I started wearing extensions and now wear a wig. I still have some hair left by am balding on my crown and front of scalp and lost a lot of hair on the sides of my head. I’ve been struggling with this and lately it has been hitting me even more. It’s a struggle every day, when I’m home I look for my baseball cap in efforts to try to hide what is happening and use my wig when I go out. I am having a very hard time coming to terms with how bad it’s getting and it’s only going to get worse the drs say. My goal is to work on my confidence and how I feel this year but it’s been very difficult. I am so inspired by all the people who embrace what this disease has done and hopefully I can embrace it one day too.
