Doctor- its great to have a medical professional on this site. I have read some of your replies and you are obviously an intelligent and knowledgeable person whose beliefs are grounded in science and data. Thank you for your responses, I hope you continue to do this service.

I am very happy to see a doctor on this site. Thank you for answering my question about the medical terminology of Alopecia. I can't wait to learn some new information from you. Feel free to ask me any questions if you day have any. I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata on May 12th 2009. So, I am very new. But yes, as Nikita said, "our hair follicles welcome you" as do we. Thank you for taking an interest in us Alopecians.
Welcome to Alopecia World! Happy to have you aboard!
I have had AA for almost 20 years. The first incidence in 1989- only one spot and it re-grew hair. And no more spots for almost 14 years!! Then it came back!! so for the last 5 years I've had spot after spot (and now multiple ones at a time) Good news- I grow hair back fast. But new ones seem to pop up just as fast! So frustrating!!! I've seen so many docs over the years and tried many different treatments- it can emotionally exhausting.
I think it is wonderful you have an interest in AA- find us a cure would you! Ha! :)
Our hair follicles welcome you!!! It is good to see there are doctors out there interetsed. If there is any advice you can give us, or you any questions for me ( diag with Diffused AA but a year later rediangnosed with Androgenic A.) let me now.
