Even though I had experienced a small patch of hair loss two times earlier in my life (once in high school and once in college), I first learned about Alopecia when I was 37 and pregnant with my 3rd child. It started with a patch the size of a golf ball in the back of my head then grew to the size of a baseball. After that, I noticed clumps of hair coming out in my hairbrush and in the shower. Within 4 months, all of my hair had fallen out and my husband shaved my head for me. I then also lost my eye brows and eye lashes and all of my other body hair.
