I don't have any form of alopecia, but I do have 3 other autoimmune diseases; psoriosis, psoriatic arthritis, and spondylitis. Even though these are classified as 3 seprate diseases, I believe they are different sets of symptoms of one underlying disease. Recently, I have had an interest in learning about other autoimmune conditions, and to see if there is a tendancy for people to have more than one of these conditions at the same time. I have tried online support groups for my specific conditions, but most everyone on them seems to be pretty down, and that kind of atmosphere is just not mentally healthy. This site seems like it is a very positive place, so I hope no one minds if a non-alopecian hangs around here for a little while.
Hi Jamie, Like you I have many autoimmune diseases,. My Doctor said once you have 1 you are prone to more. that has been the case for me too! Yes we try hard to stay positive. I found this sight so helpful last year when i lost all my hair. There were some very hard moments. But because I see some many people coping with this, it has given me the confidence to be bald and beautiful!!!!! Stay well.
