About Me:
My work an hobby. i am a writer: Comedy, satrire, erotica, comentary, prose, prose-poetry,poetry. I am a musician: piano, singing, writing music. I am an amateur historian. Ask me about any period in the Western World.

I am a raconteur. I write exactly as I speak and i speak in poetry. I am a walking poem.

I am a comedy improvisor. The humor I write is often shifted over to my performance.

Years ago a large amount of my hair fell out from the upper part og the back of my head. It grew back with cortisone injections. I read on the site about a woman who had the exact same thing happen to her. When she was twenty she got alopecia areata, same as me, and in a small way. Her hair also came back and for twnety years she never gave the incident a thought.

When she was in her early forties the alopecai struck again, but this time it wasn't so benign. Her hair started to fall out and I think that she was completely bald and hairless within less than a month. And she still has a smooth scalp, no eyebrows or lashes and no body hair.

so I ask you; what are the chances that mu alopecia areata will suddnely return as the thief in the night and rob me of every last strand of hair on my scalp and body.
I've got to say that I don't mind so much having a completely clean, smooth scalp, I don't mind if I have no beard or body hair. I actually kind of like the idea of having no hair from the neci down. And I have been thinking about changing my appearance: I really think I would look good with a completely smooth bald scalp. But I do not want to lose my eyebrows or eyelashes. I know that alopcian women hate to lose that hair but at least their bone sturcture and society's notms make the browless and lashless female acceptable and not weird. The same does not go for men. Without that haIr they look absolutely terrible.

This is an interesting situation.I am planning to hsave my scalp bald because i like the style. More and more women are shaving their scalps smooth also but it is still not usually accepted by society. A bald man is. But a woman sho has no brows or lashes is not that uncommon, at least the brows but the loss of that particular hair by a man makes him look really odd.

I sometimes think my desire to change my appearance from longiish haired man to one who has a super smooth scalp is not a defense against the chance that the alopecia will return and since i will already be bald it will not be such a jolt. I understand quite well that a shaved head is a long way from an alopecia head.

One way i am thinking of to minimize the difference between my shaved scalp and my alopecia head if the day should come, is to use a depilatory on my scalp, Carson's Head Smooth, that removes the scalp hair beneath the skin so that the head looks as if it is really bald. The only thing is that you have to use it every day just as you would have to shave your scalp everyday to maintain the shaved bald look. The difference is that the head that is made bald with a razor leaves a shadow, and alopecia leaves no shadow. The Head Smooth leaves the scalp looking very much like an alopecia scalp. You still have to use it every day as you would when you shave, but the look would be pure bald. So, if all my hair falls out, I should have virtually the same look that I will with the regular use of the depilatory.
