Profile Information

Relationship Status:
Single
About Me:
Im a 57 woman and have had thinning on the crown of my head since my 20s which has got worse and worse.Im very depressed about it and would love to chat to other people in South Wales or the uk.
Do you have alopecia?
Male pattern baldness
Are you age 18 or older?
Yes - I am 18 or older
Just updating my profile a bit,My hair has been getting thinner and thinner on my crown since my 20s and its changed the way i am over the years. I no longer have any confidence and hate going out anywhere in the evenings such as pubs or clubs, if someone mentions anything about my hair im in tears.
Over the years its got worse and so has my confidence.I,ve been in touch with a lovely lady who has hair problems as well and even though she lives a long way from me so we cant meet up personally its good to chat over the phone.I not long mentioned my worries to a few close friends as i knew i would get upset talking about it but im glad i did and wish i,d told them earlier.
I did phone up and get a appointment to see someone about having a hair transplant but cancelled when i read online that your own hair can be shocked into falling out.
I know im very lucky that i,ve got to 58 without having to wear a wig (although if anyone looked in my ottoman they would think i,d scalped a whole street of people as i have a collection of hairpieces ive bought over the years but never worn outside the house). Some days are worse than others but its nice to have something in common with people who understand.Judy.

Hello and welcome, Judy!
I know how hard hair loss can be; I have had it for about 30 years. Let me know if you need help or support. One thing that you might be interested in is my book, written for women, called "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" (It just won two national awards!) It has a lot of good info in it, it can answer many questions, and it's a fun read, too. You can find out more on my page. It's available on Amazon.com, and on this site under "Bookshelf."
Let me know if there's anything else I can do! I am here to help.
