Diagnosed with Alopecia Areata in February 2011. Have seen many specialists and have been told I have a very agressive case, I am still losing my hair and have more patches as time passes- I have been given an option of taking oral steroids but was not given a guarantee that it would work, and was told to expect losing all my hair and that due to a few reasons that my prognosis is not a good one (family history, allergies...) I have chosen not to take the steroids as the side effects could be bad and I would rather not have hair than try those steroids and risk getting health issues when it is not even a 100% solution. Just trying to cope with the idea that I am probably going to lose all my hair.
