- I am a 40 year nurse, mother of one beautiful teenage daughter. Have lived with alopecia since I was about 11. I do wear wigs, but am so proud of the people who decide its not for them! You go! I basically tell everyone I meet that I have this condition. Let them decide up front if they can deal with it. If they can't, so be it. My live is full of great friends and family who can!
