- I am 52 years old, I had alopecia for the last 10 years. I have lost my eye brows. My problem now is my head it hurts even to brush my hair I have lost about 4 inches on the top of my head. I am thinking of shaving my head and just buying a wig. I have a piece on that is doing a good job. But now just washing drying my hair hurts so much. I am worried about doing this but in my heart this is the best thing to do. please help
