- I am 47 years old. I am married with two dogs. I am of Italian origin.
I first noticed I was losing my hair at about 15 years old. At the time, I didn't know why this was happening to me. I was devastated. I remember wearing a white T-shirt and when I took it off, to go to bed, it was covered with my long hair. There must have been about 300 hairs there. I was confused. Everyone was telling me it was normal. It kept happening. I remember taking a bath and the tub was full of my hair. I was so scared and depressed. I went to a highly recommended dermatologist and he said "Yes, you are losing your hair. There is nothing you could do about it." I have Female Pattern Baldness. (Androgenetic Alopecia)
I began styling my hair with a comb over to hide the thinning crown of my head. I would tease and spray my hair to keep it in place. I would avoid going to hairdressers because they would comment about my scalp beginning to show. Many years later, I can no longer walk outside with the little bio hair that I have left. I wear a topper.
