- Hair started thinning significiently 3 yrs ago. Treatments and doctors have been numerous. Was told by last doctor that I had male pattern baldness. No other treatment recomm except 2percent minoxidil which caused itching so I stopped. Now wearing hats and wigs and trying to cover my bald spots. aim afric am with very short kinky hair so styling options are limited and I cannot press my hair or use chemicals and don't want to wear the bald look. I hope this website will provide support as my hair loss continues.
