I'm here trying to get to know more about my disease. I've had it practically all my life but never had as many questions as I do now. For some one who has auto immune deficiencies (vitiligo, psoriasis etc... ) run rampant through my family I'm mostly convinced its genetic. 1 1/2 ago I lost almost all of the hair on my head. for me it's mostly about feeling normal, and I haven't reached that comfort yet. I've never really been into hair except for the fact that I feel so weird without it. I have two kids with the most fabulous heads of hair you can imagine, and I can look at them and smile and be glad that they don't have to deal with the emotional stress of it all. I wear head scarves and my guy says he thinks they are sexy, and he doesn't mind the missing hair. I'm learning not to mind it so much, but looking in the mirror still makes me gasp a bit.
