About Me:
I have had AA since I was about 19 or 20. I had some random spots and even pretty heavy shedding at first but I would get injections and it would grow back.I could get away with it because I had pretty thick hair. When I was around 22 I had my first severe hair fall I guess you could call it. First time I went on prednisone- I thought it was a magic drug! I know better now. My hair grew back and then it fell out again when I was 25, more severe this time because I had to wear wigs. Again I used Prednisone,... grew back and then again 6 months later.... you get the picture and seems like this is what others have experienced.
My hair had just grown back this past summer (2011) and its all falling out again. Its shedding at a crazy rate but I seem to be more ready for it this time- not as many tears, not as much sadness. I will never touch prednisone again.

I am a Registered Nurse. But not currently working. I have an amazing and supportive husband. I love to have fun and love to meet people. Just having a hard time incorporating Alopecia into my life.

I'm hoping to meet some other courageous Alopecians here so please feel free to msg me and comment on my wall and ask questions.
Currently taking Xeljanz and fingers crossed, it works!
