- I'm a parent of a 9 year-old girl who was diagnosed with alopecia areata 3 years ago. 2 years ago, I elected to discontinue treatment and have been working instead toward acceptance and fostering a healthy and positive self image in my child. Looking to meet other like-minded parents of children with alopecia in my area, or chat/email with other parents.
