Hello out there. I'm a 44 year old woman living in NJ. I was diagnosed with Lichen Planus-FFA about 3 years ago. I have been doing Cortisone shots for almost as long in conjunction with Doxycycline. I have lost a good portion of my eyebrows, a majority of my leg and arm hair and part of my hairline. Have had some regrowth on my brows and one side of my hairline but not too much. About a month ago I saw a cloudy spot in my vision and after seeing a specialist-Opthalmologist,was told that I had fluid and inflammation on my retina. The doctor was convinced it was due to the long term cortisone in my system. So now the choice. My hair or my vision? I chose my vision, but now I am coming to terms that I may lose more of my hair, I thought it was time to finally accept I need some support. In truth, I have a great family and supportive friends, but no one really understands this unless you experience it. This has been especially hard because I am single and finding the added insecurity of hair loss to the mix doesn't help. I'm just dipping my toes in but ready to hear your stories and return the favor if I can.
