About Me:
Hello Alopecia World! My name is Shemika and I am a hairstylist in a salon in Virginia Beach. I am here to gain knowledge about Alopecia. Ironically, i'm not one who loves to sit and read the 'text book' type of answers which are out there. This is because from the common sense I have, I know that not everyone has the same experience with the same conditions. I have found that so many every day women I meet on a day to day basis are suffering from Alopecia and many other forms of hair loss, and as a stylist, I think its my duty to educate myself as much as possible on this issue to better service my clients needs. Hi Shemika,

Please forward me the information on how to fil an insurance claim for a full cranial prostesis. I asked my doctor for to submit the paperwork for approval of a prostesis. She came back to me saying she spoke to the manage care manager for blue cross and was told that they never approve prostesis. She suggested i go to a cancer treatement place that has wigs donated to them for cancer patients and get a wig for free from them. Needless to say i did not get the free wig. I want a custom wig something confortable and natural looking. I explained this to her and she said she would go ahead a submit the claim. I asked her not to do anything and told her i would get back with her. So hopfully you have some info i can give her.

Wow Shemika! I just looked at your work, and the work you have done on these ladies is beautiful! They have beautiful hair! I'm very impressed. I had tried to watch that before, and it hadn't worked, so I'm glad it worked this time. =)
