I am a single mother of a 17 year old daughter. I have suffered from alopecia areata for the last 26 years. Mine started out as two quarter size spots on the back of my head, then they grew very large. I had the injections, the creams, etc., nothing helped. Yes, my hair did grow back but it kept falling out is different spots. Finally, some of it just stopped coming back. I have been wearing wigs very successfully for quite a few years and I actually shave the hair that I do have off to stay cool.

Hi Susan, welcome to alopeciworld, I've had alopecia since I was about 8 years old, nothing helped me either, but it's all good, I shaved my head and I love it!
Welcome Susan,
Your story sounds like how my daughter got diagnosed with her alopecia. This is a great site to meet others with alopecia and know you are not alone. I hope to be chatting with u soon.
