hi, I've had alopecia since I was 13. I become totally bald at 18 and then it grew back at 22, I had a good 10 years with hair until it fell out again last year and as you can see i'm bald once more! I wear vacuum fit wig at work and if I'm going out which has been absolutley brill, I totally recommend it.
What amazes me is how much easier it is to deal with now than when I was 18!
hI Sorry its been a while since i posted but i dont get online as much as i would like to, i had two little Asian babes placed with me so time was definatley not on my side lol, anyways i would like to know about getting your wig done at a hair salon, do they do it while its on your head?? what would i say if i wanted that done ive never thought about it, but as im hoping next year to get my vaccume wig i need to know all there is about owning one and how to take care of it.
Hi Jo, Can you tell me any more about the vacuum fit wig & where you got it from please? Mine is lovely but I'm very conscious that it might come off! Also, do you know of any support groups in the South East? Thanks - Susie x
If you want to go to the next group meeting, and you wanted someone to go with we could meet up first, I'm pretty quiet and shy myself and it would be nice to have someone to walk in with.
Hi Jo thanks for the reply on my page, can you give me an idea of the cost of the freedom wigs and can you tell me of the two wigs i see you wearing on your page which is the freedom wig??
Hi Jo,
Yep we're pretty close, do you go to any support groups locally. I am going to the B'ham group mtg this Saturday (18th October). Its going to be help at Carrs Lane Church in the city centre.
I wear a dermalite wig and I'm going to collect my new one tomorrow and I can't wait. I have these on prescription and have to pay £220. How do you get on buying vacuum wigs, do you get any financial help towards them.
I am also going to Heidi Worman's open day in a couple of weeks time to have a look at the semi permanent eyeliner. I've had my eyebrows done but am not very happy with them.
