- I have alopecia areata in the ophiasis pattern. I began to lose my hair in April 2011. I regrew almost all of it but then it fell out even more than the first time when I started a new job in August 2012. I shaved it all off in March 2013. Now it appears that my body hair has decided to stop growing as well.
I joined Alopecia World to connect with people dealing with hair loss. I have a good support group in my friends and family but it's still hard to discuss the issues I'm having with people who don't know what it's like to look in the mirror and see only your hair loss.
As for who I am, that's a different story. I work in the oilfield so I am away from home a lot. When I'm at home I love to spend time with my wonderful fiancé and our two cats. I love to do hot yoga and watch movies and medical themed TV shows.
