Regarding herbs as a treatment for alopecia -- since alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder with a genetic cause, unless the herbs can alter your genetics they won't help. Fortunately, scientists have isolated eight genes responsible for aa and are working on a viable treatment now. I imagine that within the next five to ten years there will be something wonderful as a result! Leslie Ann
