Profile Information

Relationship Status:
Single
About Me:
my daughter (27) has a total loss of hair on her scalp due to alopecia. I have been looking for ways to help her through it. She has very high self esteem and is very self confident, but being the age that she is, and I'm sure that at any age, this is very hard to accept. I have been trying to find a way to help her get a wig, unfortunately, wigs are expensive as I'm sure many of you know. I would change places with her in a second if I could but since this isn't possible, I am doing what ever is within my reach to help her deal with this.

Interesting I live in Rancho Cordova and your daughter is around the same age. I wonder if I knew her or she went to cordova high school. I've had AU sense the age of 5 and I like to think I bring a positive light to people struggling to cope or just want information.

Hi and welcome. I hope you come to like this place as much as I do. I am a parent of two older sons and I too would be like you. I think what your doing is made of love. If I can help you in any way please let me know.

Hi Sharon,
I know how hard it can be. I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It might make you and your daughter feel better. Check it out on my page -- and let me know how else I can help.
