Hi, I'm Stephanie! I'm 24, and was diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia when I was 14 years old. I started losing my hair when I was 13. When I went to the dermatologist for the first time they all gathered around and gawked at how bad my hair loss was, which kicked off my crippling self esteem issues, depression, and anxiety. I'm seeking to talk to people that understand how devastating alopecia is to your self-esteem and how others cope when their friends and family don't understand how much it truly affects you. If there are any support groups in Ohio or in a nearby state please let me know. I really need some support because I've been dealing with alopecia for ten years plus now, and I still haven't had any emotional relief from it.
Just to make you smile, .....you are very pretty in your picture. Hope all is going well. I can't relate to being so young and losing your hair. But I have always had crap for hair anyway, but, at least I had hair. Now I have ophiasis alopecia, and androgenic alopecia. Quite the combo.....
