- I was diagnosed w/ alopecia 8 or 9 yrs ago at age 43.I'm now 53 and my eyebrows are disappearing, extremely thin and the inner 1/3 of each is gone. My eyelashes have thinned enormously and I find it so hard to apply mascara now, they are so thin and slippery.
