I've had Alopecia for about 10 years. for much of that time I had periods of grow back, once again this year my hair is receding over my ears on my temple and from the back up. I have a short cut that works for me now and a great gal to cut my hair and understands my needs. Alopecia can leave you lonely wondering everyday if its the day I will loose the rest of it. I am also a Celiac on a gluten free diet but haven't watched my diligence as much as I should. My overall health is good and my outlook in life is ok. I struggle to keep God in my life daily. I'm not angry anymore I have finally excepted this is me it could be worse but this is me no matter what I can't change being a Celiac or have Alopecia.
I love the arts I make and sell a large variety of items. I grow an organic garden take care of our five bee hives and chickens, grandson and now a puppy with three cats. I/we foster for the humane society and volunteer for transport of pets. I have great active life sometimes to much but its summer it will calm down soon.
Thank you for reading.

Hi withhope, thank you for accepting my friend-request. I noticed that you and your husband strive to center your lives around God. I really admire that, but I'm very new to faith and would like to know how your alopecia has diminished your relationship with God nor distracted you from seeking to connect with Him. For my part, the severity of my hairloss seemed to increase right after I took my first tentative steps towards belief. It almost felt like a challenge or a trial, and it continues to be problematic for me because, while I do seek a connection with God, my heart remains very troubled. I continue to feel great anguish over this problem and I don't understand why greater faith and obedience don't seem to equal greater inner peace. Do you have any words of wisdom to share with me?

I feel the same way!
Yeah, I've read about the possible affects of gluten. However, I have been gluten and grain free for years and still have AU!
But soon there will be a viable treatment, with two promising drugs in clinical trials.
Hugs!
