Hello, I am new to this forum, but not new to Alopecia. Having suffered since 20 years old.

Hello, I am new to this forum, but not new to Alopecia. Having suffered since 20 years old.

I have not accepted my AA easily and have always been on the lookout for a solution. I went to see a private dermatologist around 5 years ago who told me of the research in progress with Tofacitinib, I kept checking in only to find it hadn't been approved for use in the UK, nevertheless I found I could buy it in India and proceeded to buy Pfizers Tofacitinib in 60 x 5mg tablets at $580 I was buying three tubs at a time and they would arrive in only a week. I took them to my dermatologist and he confirmed them to be legitimate.

I was surprised after only 3 weeks to start seeing progress and after 4 months I was looking a little messy but didn't want to shave it off it was far from hair but I did have a furry covering all over my head apart from very light that would indicate male pattern baldness on the top.

To those who are saying about getting monitored by their GP when they buy Tofacitinib privately your GP will not help you but a private hospital (I used BMI hospital and paid to see a Rheumatoid Arthritis expert as these are the consultants trained to prescribe Tofacitinib should help you. but finding the right one is hard. The reason mine helped was I told him I intended to take the medication regardless and I would prefer that I could monitor it than not, and wrote a letter confirming explicitly that no responsibility for my actions would be on the consultant and it was at my risk with or without his help that I would take the medication. He accepted this, though I guess many won't.

It was a shock that after 33 years it actually could be activated to grow, I had tried prednisolone a few times and with methotrexate prescribed but the results where bad and the weight gain was even worse.

With Tofacitinib the biggest problem was I gained three stone (45lb/20kg) in only 4 months and I could barely breath when going up stairs or walking. My wife said I looked terrible and ill and my kids where worrying. I wanted to be selfish to get my hair back but eventually gave in and come off the tablets. I lost two stone in two months and after only a couple of weeks my breathing was fine again.

I have resided to aim at getting tofacitinib ointment/cream and applying it for my eyebrows and beard area. If I could recover this area I would be happy enough.

My question is this, does anyone have any source or knowledge how to purchase Tofacitinib Ointment, I have only found one pharmacy online that sells it (in the USA) but they will not sell to me with an USA prescription, which I will possibly fly to the states to try to get privately if I have to.

If anyone has any info would appreciate, if anyone has any questions regarding my experiences wit Tofacitinib feel free to ask.

Price was around 28$ for 60 tablets + shipping. Response was fast in WhatsApp.

I thought of testing it in lab but it's very expensive but I'm pretty sure it's a legit drug.

I have purchased tofacitinib from beacon an wondered if its safe to be on? I have been taking it for a few weeks but a slightly worried about the long term effects and if maybe i should wean off of them or come straight off? If not, is it safe to be on for a few months? I have read about all the links to lymphoma and other things but I am not sure if i am just over thinking it because of course everything has side effects. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey all,

I was just wondering - have any if you had your Beacon tofacitinib tested before you started taking it?

I'm based in Ireland and am about to order, but I'd feel a lot more at ease knowing of a lab I could send some samples to (that's affordable!).

A chain of labs with one within Ireland would be ideal!

Any thoughts or advice?

All the best,

I am trying to get the generic Tofacitinib (Tofacinix) from Bangladesh in India. Does anyone know how I could get it or if there is any generic version available in India itself? I found one or two generic medicine sellers but they are charging almost thrice the amount for these medicines.

Thank you.

My questions:

- What about the punitive possible side effects, this is scaring me off, should I be concerned with the Cream?

- Has anyone experienced cosmetically significant regrowth from the Cream? How long did it take?

Report: Kenalog Steroid I had kenalog epidural in neck for neck pain, 2 injections 90mg, unexpected side effect a month later:

- 6 months later beard and eyelashes gone...but eyebrows about 60% intact...would like to try the Tofacitinib Cream on eyebrows before they too fall out (I could also do eyebrow steroid injections).

I just joined the group after being in a bit of denial. I have had 3 episodes of AA - my first at 22, second at 26 and now at 34. I was very lucky the first few times and recovered in 6 months back to my normal self. This time it's not going so well. I have lost almost 90% of my hair on my head (before I had spots). I am going on 6-7 months with it getting progressively worse. Topical steroids, minoxidil, methotrexate and now cyclosporine to little avail. I recently went to a immunologist (as I…

I recently went to a immunologist (as I have been diagnosed with hashimotos too and my weight has fallen off to a point I am very skinny. Anyhow as most of you guys know tofacitinib is pricey. My immunologist has said he is happy to write me a script so I can try and source it from another country where it is cheaper. He will monitor me while on it and in Australia it's legal to import up to 3 months at a time for personal use. I have looked around at some sites and I found one IN India which offers PayPal and a reasonable (still not cheap) price. Have any of you guys had experience doing this? I am scared of being scammed but feel like I really need to fight this as much as possible for my mental health. Can you guys give any advice? I'm a bit desperate and am finding it tough going being a mum of two littles, holding down a professional job and supporting a very career orientated husband in my current state.
Thanks for all the help.
