    Hi Nena,

Welcome to Alopecia World. I am so glad you are here. This is so awesome that everyone is joining in and right away starting to network.
  • BrandyLynn

Hello Nena! I'm an avid kayaker myself and actually run a small photography business from my home. Mostly landscape photography but have done portraiture for both people and animals ..mostly horses. I recently landed a job for a major hospital system in Wisconsin to provide some work for display in local clinics which I'm so excited about.
I sure miss the kayaking though. It's been a cold winter here in Michigan. I'm used to being out every day in my kayak. There's a river I go down (and back up) just down the road. Provides an excellent work out.
Glad to see you here. Just joined today myself and just love it so far. What a great place for people with alopecia. Hope to get to know you more.
  • BrandyLynn

Memorial DVD's! How neat but I'd think I'd get to emotional making them...even the person was a complete stranger. You've got great compassion and lots of skills!!
Glad to hear from you and hope to get to know you some more.
This truly is a great place and I'm thankful for it's startup.
  • Ashley

Thanks very much, i'm glad to be here! This is a really cool site!
  • kastababy

I see you're from Missouri -- what part??? Once upon a time ago, I lived in Omaha, NE which was only 2 hours from KC. My boyfriend went to college in KCMO, so we go back on occasion for reunions and such!
  • Pat

Hi Mo, good to meet you...interesting to see an aussie group in your list, especially LRB, didn't know they were known out in the big world :) I've had a yen to do kyaking for a while but so far haven't followed it up...maybe I should! Does the kyak need much maintainance?
  • Dotty

    Hi Mo,
Thank you so much for the nice comment. I love my tattoed head. It was my therapy for my hairloss and also my "statement" to the world that Alopecians are beautiful and to give people a real reason to stare. I like when they ask about my tattoos because I'm all too willing to talk their ear off about Alopecia. Hope to chat soon. Love and Hugs. P.S. I love your statement above about being "YOUnique"
  • Ashley

I live really near cape, do we live near each other?
  • Ashley

Yes ma'am, i was talking about Cape Girardeau. I live about half an hour away from there. So its cool that we live semi close. =)

Hello, I live in the one of the many small towns in Northwest OH. About 40 minutes from Toledo. I'm an STNA so I just wear bandannas to work because I get so hot and wigs can be so itchy. I will going to school in August to get my LPN. I'm very excited about that. Thank you for the message :)
  • Dotty

    It's national care week...
time to send messages to all your friends, telling them how much you care about them.

    Without friends
you would be missing out on a lot.

    A friend should be radical;

They should love you when you're unlovable,

    Hug you when you're unhuggable,

And bear you when you're unbearable.

    A friend should be fanatical;

They should cheer when the whole world boos,

Dance when you get good news,

    And cry when you cry.

But most of all, a friend should be mathematical,

They should multiply the joy, Divide the sorrow,

Subtract the past, And add to tomorrow,

Calculate the need deep within your heart,

And always be bigger than the sum of all their parts.

    I care about you.
    Have a nice day, and
I'm glad we are friends!!! Delete Comment

Hey girl!!! I am so tired!!! Work is kicking my butt -- I got a promotion and started the training for it, so my mind is mush!!! I have a blog posting I am putting up tonight though, so keep watching -- I think everyone will DEFINITELY have comments for it!!!
  • BrandyLynn

Hi there!! Sorry it took so long to get back to you. It's been nuts here!! My kids are on Easter Break for the week and let me tell you....it's going to be a long, long week. They are GREAT kids though, really they are some of the most well behaved or so others say.
I just got done filing taxes...what a pain in the butt!!!
I'lll write you an email in a bit.
  • Billie

Hey Mo! You look great the way you are!
Thanks-- I 'll let you in on a secret.... It is actually a wig that has a headband sewed onto it. I bought it at a beauty store locally.
    Nice to met ya!!!
  • Cindy

Mo- I noticed you are doing DCP. I posted on one of your replies..How is it working for you and how long have you been on this treatment? My daughter is doing SADBE which is similar..Hope to hear from you! Cindy
  • Cindy

Mo, that is fantastic..I have head that the DCP works fast...The SADBE is a little slower process. It was take a few months before Samantha may see regrowth..I look forward to seeing your pictures..Cindy
  • claire taylor

Hiya thanks for the comments my children are gorgeous and i am proud of them, BUT after today they have drove me mad ha ha must be all the easter eggs ha ha, Hope to speak soon
  • Cindy

Mo, how is the DCP going? I am so anxious to see some results for Samantha and I am finding myself not too happy today..I need a boost if you know what I mean..My eyes have been watery the last two days..Cindy
  • Cindy

I just noticed the pics of your kids ..They are beautiful..How old are they? I assume they are twins?Cindy
  • Pat

Well, maybe I'll try it one day! Here I could do it year round as winter isn't that cold. I think the ones you sit on top of are called surf skis here. Are they better than the ones you sit in? Also, kayaks are quite expensive so I wouldn't want to buy one and find I don't want to use it in month.
  • Cindy

Mo, how is the DCP going? We still haven't seen anything happen for Samantha. The doctor said it may take longer since we are doing one small area a week, but we just started increasing the size. She is doing squaric acid immunotherapy, very similiar. take care,Cindy
  • Cindy

hey Mo!!!! Glad to hear the DCP is working for you. Samantha went to see the doctor today and we are kicking up the applications to two days a week and increasing the area size. We still have seen no visible results, but the doctor said it is still early since we have been applying small doses. Hopefully kicking it up a bit will make some magic happen!!! I hope you get more meds so you can keep going.....Keep in touch! cindy
