Hey..Guess what?? I grew up in San Jose, right near the Winchester Mystery house..Lived there all my life until the year 2000,when i moved here to Folsom, which is east of sacramento...I went to a estate auction today, and bought a antique hand carved planter, with angels on both ends..Its really nice..20.00 Not bad..Im picking up my 1950 Caddy pick-up tomorrow..I cant wait..It'lll be nice to bring-er home..Goofd to hear from you..Glad you day went well..It must be trying working with 8th graders with behavior problems..Sounds like a handful..Good luck..Bob
  • Bob Hershberger

Wooo-hoooo here also..I tried to get my Caddy pick-up out of storage, but it was all the way in back, and I have a hip replacement and a crushed disc,so I guess that will have to wait..Ive been trying to help my older brother,as he is starting to have mental problems, like hearing things etc,so,yep,my hands are full..So my weekend wasnt to bad..I pray everyday for all the things I DONT HAVE..Yep..What i dont have,,I have so many friends with major problems,health,money.etc.etc.etc,so I consider myself lucky..Glad you wrote back..Good to hear from you..Stay in touch..Your bud..Bob

Denise..Thanks for your advise..I try and not take anything personally, something i learned while dealing with AA,so your surely right..Muscle cars huh? I used to have a friend who had a 69 1/2 Trans Am,454 with a 4 speed..Very rare..This was in like 1980..I didnt know that they would be so valuable now..I guess he knew though..It must take all your skills to deal with that many children with disabilities..Thanks God for people like you who have the skills and patience needed to oversee that sort of thing..Im sure it comes back to you a thousand times over, when your able to help, even one person..Thanks for your prayers tied to my older brother jeff..Its starting to scare me..He's let his living conditions deterioate,so that makes me even more concerned..Thanks.Denise..Bob
ps..When does it get easier...I thought this was suspossed to be the erasier part of my life..Oh well..Roll with the punches.. : )

Hi Denise..My brother hasnt been offically diagnoised,as nobody wants to have him comitted,as he will be held for a 72 hour watch, and then they'll let him out,and there will be hell to pay..In my opinion,he is paranoid schiz...He thinks people are coming out of the floor,or under the house..He called at 4'30am to tell me people were outside, that I paid 5000.00 to,to cause him grief, and that Id better pick up and explain myself..Yiiiikes...Its getting bad..Nobody in my family knows just what to do..Its really scary..He goes without eating, and he's hypoglacimec, spelled wrong, and so he starts to hallucinate, and he has 2 dogs, that arent trained, and there pooping all over the house, and the smell is just terrible, and moldy, but he refuses to do anything about it..Im praying something will turn up,or a idea to help him..Right now,I have no idea..Anyway,my day went well,as good as can be expected..Thats a nice butterfly you have there..Very unique..Oh yeah,,when I got home, there was a message from somebody telling me Id better get up to my brothers house cause theres a emergency?? Last time I did that,I got there and there wasnt anything at all,and when I asked,he said,"give me a minute to wake up"..Well,after 3 or 4 times of give me a minute,I worked my way out,and headed home..A 3 hour drive!!..May God help me,as Im not as young as I used to be..Oh well, thanks for listening..Your bud..Bob

    A beautiful butterfly tattoo!
  • Dotty

    Hi Denise,
Thank you for the comment. I love your tattoo also. I have 22 total tattoos on my head for a total of about 40 hours, and I did it for the same reason as you, to give people a reason to stare!!! LOL Good for you. My friend Joyce got her butterfly tattoo on the back of her head also...she got it done on "Miami Ink!!" How cool is that huh? Nice to meet you and I hope to get to know you better.
    Love and Hugs,
    Dotty

Hi Denise. Dropping by to say hello and nice to meet you!
  • RENEE

Denise I was wondering how painful it was to get the tattoos on your head in comparison with other areas of your body. DO you have other tattoos? I have always wanted to get my head tattooed. I just do not like the look and shape of my head and would feel more attractive at home.
  • Lolin

Nice to meet you! I think it sucks that people don't get that. I know one day I'll be ok but I miss my hair!!! I miss what it feels like when someone brushes or plays with your hair. Thank you for understanding where I'm coming from!
  • Lolin

    did the tattoo hurt????
  • RENEE

    Denise,
It has only been since I have been with my husband that I hae started to tell my close friends about my alopecia. SOe have been suprised at first, but everyone has been really accepting. My girlfriends think it is cool that I do not have to shave my legs. I have to say that every relationship I have been in, I have eventually told the man that I have alopecia. There is hope for yo finding a great man out there. I have found it was easiest for me to be in the relationship for a while for us to get to know each other, then when I do tell them it is easier to accept. Do you go bald most of the time, or like many of us do you wear a wig to fit in to society? Thanks for the feedback on your tattoo. I nw just need to decide what I want to get and how much of my head i want to be covered.

    Denise,

Several years ago I had a vaccuum wig, and quite hoenstly I did not like it as much as the type I now have. It was hot to wear, and when my head sweat I was always having to push down to re-seal the vaccuum. The cost of them is very high. It did last me several years longer than the ones I wear now, but like I said I did not feel as comfortable or as secure as I like. I understand they are making them with a new material that is much thinner now though so maybe it is a better product. I wear a piece that I secure with tape and I love it. It has a lace front and a silicone all areound the edges for the tape to be secured. The cap is made from a monfilament that gives me a great part and is very breathable. I am going on thrusday to meet my hair maker to look into a new product made from a new synthetic material like that of cyberhair that is supposed to be really great and easier to maintain than human hair. It is a poly / nylon blend. I am told that you can not even tell it is not human hair and it is amazingly durable.
  • RENEE

I met with my hairpeice maker last night. He has a new material that is a poly nylon blend. It is beautiful and you can pull on the hair and not rip it out of the base. It feels just like human hair. The base is taped or glued to you head which is what I do every day, and I swim and am very active. It will not come off easily. The vacccuumm is a little more secure but hot and sweaty. I found it slipped around on my head, but that was several years ago, maybe they are better now. I have seen comments that do say about the sweating though.
  • RENEE

Oh and the new lace hair line is beautiful. It looks just like a real hair line.
