Very recently diagnosed with Alopecia. Still in the "devastated" phase.

All my life I have been praised for my healthy, shiny, thick hair. It has been a huge part of my identity, as it is for everyone. For me though, I think it became of greater importance than normal. Perhaps I'm going through this to learn an important lesson :)

    JJ, I don't think anyone on this site is excited about alopecia per se. Like you, many other members of this beloved community are excited to have found a place that they can call home -- a place where you'll be embraced, enlightened, encouraged, and emboldened by people who truly feel your pain, understand your frustrations, and can identify with your deepest longings of your heart. :-)
