I am a young woman newly diagnosed with alopecia areata.
I am doing my very best to enjoy life to its fullest and discover what I was meant to do and who I am designed to be.
Hi Tamara!
Welcome to a great network of support! I hope you find the acceptance and knowledge here that the rest of us have found. It is really a great place to just be!
Again, welcome!!!!
Hi Tamara, I wanted to welcome you to Alopecia World. I can honestly say that we are a great community here and I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us. Cheryl, co-founder
Welcome to alopecia world Tamara!! If you ever need to talk, I've dealt with alopecia for 30 years. Everyone here will be helpful also, I'm sure. I love Nassau by the way, it's such a gorgeous place!
Hi Tamara,
I have had aa for about 30 years. How are you doing with it?
It sounds like you have a wonderful attitude!
I just wanted to say hello.

Hi Tamara! I saw your post in the Newly Diagnosed group. Just wanted to comment on that that it seems to fall out at different rates for everyone. I was diagnosed on May 2nd. So far I've lost about 60% of my hair, I'd say. There's really no way to know what will happen and when.
I'm so jealous that you live in the Bahamas! I LOVE the Caribbean. I've been to the Bahamas once, but not since I was much younger. I'm going to St. Maarten next March for the 3rd time. I LOVE island life!
Yep it was May of this year. When I first noticed the spots it was pretty much denial shortly followed by depression. But luckily, I found this website right away and I was able to reach acceptance very quickly and my sadness was very short lived. :o)
I came to the conclusion that the cream I am using is not working. Discovered that one spot got larger and shinier and another is becoming more defined. Very disappointing.
hey! i see you ordered a lace wig! u are gonna love it! i had a few they last a long time, they are comfortable an look very natural! i love them! also another thing u can try in the future is stocking cap weaves. but the lace is way better they last longer! on my pics on my profile those are stocking cap weaves that i am wearing!
I live in Folkestone England, a bit dull yet peaceful town. You live in the Bahamas!! There you go something to make you feel better. Thanks for comment on the blog.
