Hey Rozalin, how are you, welcome to Alopeciaworld, we are one big family here! How close are you to Bay Springs, MS? The buzz cut looks great, I went the shaved, route, working so far, who knows. Glad you're here, drop me a line sometime!
Hi Rozalin, I wanted to welcome you to Alopecia World. I can honestly say that we are a great community here and I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us and we look forward to your input. Cheryl, co-founder
I have my grand girls up as my pic for now, but I'm going to repost my shaved look again soon. I love it, I'm over 50 and those hot flashes were killing me especially with extra hair on my head, lol. But on the real, I just feel so free.
Hi Rozalin,
Thanks for your interest!
wrote "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" to help other people -- particularly women and girls (since I have first-hand experience with this!)--and it's one that I wish I had been able to find when I discovered I had alopecia years ago.
I have stumbled through all the stages of grief (feeling guilty because, after all, there are worse things than alopecia), figuring out how to look normal (and hopefully even pretty), bouncing from one treatment to another, buying and ruining or rejecting dozens of wigs, losing every single hair on my body, figuring out how to tell guys I was dating, living in fear of the wind and someone touching my head…all in all, going from heartbreak to acceptance to joy and confidence. And it's all in the book, along with experiences of other women and girls, advice on wigs, makeup, products, treatments -- and how you can celebrate your life with alopecia areata, go after your dreams, and know you’re not alone.
The book is really beautiful, illustrated with my paintings. And it's a fun, enjoyable read, too!
You can get it at www.Amazon.com, or www.leslieannbutler.npauthors.com! Let me know if you get it -- would love your feedback.
I have no plans to do another one right now.
Hugs!
Thanks for complimenting Cheryl and me as a couple. We truly appreciate your kind and encouraging words. We're planning to be married by the end of October. Wish us luck! :-)
