About Me:
Hey!
So I'm just signed up to this site...There will be more info here come :)

* I go to Rutgers University and I'm majoring in Psychology and Spanish Translations/ Interpretations.

* Enjoy Singing! Woo!

* I've had alopecia since I was in the 4th grade. Doctor's really didn't diagnose it though right away, because they weren't even sure what it was. Others would tell me that I was just not eating healthy and that's why my hair was falling out ( I don't know how many of you have heard that before).But I know that what you eat does affect how much or how healthy your hair will be, but it's just weird because I was in the fourth grade! I was recommended to a psychologist because they thought that I was very anxious and they wanted me to join a support group of other kids that had emotional problems (ie. Anger problems, violent kids...me??) My mom wasn't too thrilled about this and just decided that I shouldn't go anymore. Talking about my hairloss with the psychologist was a little helpful, but it was hard... I was thinking that something was deeply wrong with me since I was going to a psychologist.( Side note: so I remember one of the questions too lol, "do you know when it's going to fall out, do you feel it when your hair falls out?" I would ask myself "what?" But I still described to her an answer according to her question, but I never really experienced this.) Now, just about 13 years later, here I am, learning to just accept AA.It was something really hard to cope with at such an early age, as many of you can attest to, with kids making fun of you and just being plain mean. I just don't get why we could be so insensitive to people when we don't even know what's going on with them. But I'm learning and believe that God has a purpose with everything. He knows how many hairs are on our head...n since well some of us don't :) he knows why we don't. There's a purpose that hopefully later on we'll soon come to find out.

I do have a pretty cute small head. Lol I still haven't been able to go fully bare (n I do want to), but it's a working progress:)

Just a little to share.

    Hi Darlenys,
    I know how hard it can be. I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It might make you feel better. Check it out on my page -- and let me know how else I can help.
