I am a writer and Realtor and ballet teacher. I live on Quicksilver Farm with Lipizzan horses and Navajo Churro Sheep. I have a Blenheim apricot orchard. This year we're adding a lavender field and bee hives! I have two labradoodles, a standard poodle, a miniature dachshund and 4 cats. I am happily married to Tim and have a daughter named Ila at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. It's a good life! My motto these days is Extreme Courage. Whatever I need to face, I'll do it with as much dignity and humor as I possess!
Hi Nants, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to Alopecia World. I have been living with Alopecia Areata since 1991 and know full well the struggle it can be. I look forward to getting to know you. Cheryl, Co-founder
My son is home here in Harrisburg, PA on winter break from Pittsburgh, he was upset when he heard how hot it was today in Pittsburgh and he's here where it's 39 degrees. When you decide to shave your head, I'm sure you will be FAB, it's an Alopecian "right of passage", we just do the BALD thing well!
Hi Nants, Thank you for the nice words......I say the same thing on my cell phone message. "It's a good Life" I've been down, but now I have grown....it is a very good life and I enjoy each day. Have a great New Years! Craig
Thanks for sharing your wisdom with Lyndsey & I. It's nice to hear from others going through the same process no matter what the age. I see you teach ballet. I took ballet from the time I was 4 until I was 16. Take care and God Bless!
Hi, wow your right they sure do look alike. My little sweet guy's name is Charlie. A friend of my got him from a guy that was going to put him in a dumpster. He called me one night and asked if I wanted of him. Of course I want him and that's how he came to me. He's now 5 years old. He jumped up the stairs just like yours and still does most of the time. I sure love him he's just so sweet and different. He follows me everywhere I go sleeps next to me if not on top of me. So is your little guy a manx also? The vet told me that Charlie might have problems with that when he gets older, but time will tell. Hey thanks for the note love your page and pictures. Do have land fruit trees? Cute little dogs also.
Hi there,
Thanks for your thoughts. I think it's pretty much decided that I am going to shave it off...I noticed another patch starting last night - that's when it was official. I'm contacting my health benefit company today to find out if they pay for medical wigs.
I have received different opinions on wether I should shave it or not...even my mom who lost her hair to chemo, doesn't suggest I do it...but for me, I have allowed my hair loss to consume me, and I hate that...Soooooooo
I'm gonna take the plunge!! Thanks again!

Hope your doing good. On a wig search today I found this site and thought of you seems there are some nice wigs on here without bangs.
