I've had Alopecia for as long as I remember, but it wasn't until 3 years ago that I lost all of my hair for the first time. I haven't had hair since then. I have a one-year-old daughter and an incredible husband but I would love to meet some other people who are going through the same disease.
Hey! I'm from WInnipeg too. My 8 year old daughter has Alopecia and is going crazy trying to find others with the disease. I also have a 6 yr old boy, 2 year old girl and 8 month old girl. I am starting a winnipeg support group, and would love some help! Ive got Evelyn from Evelyns wigs helping, dermatology offices etc. Let me know if interested!
Thats awesome. IEvelyn from Evelyns Wigs has sent me a copy of what she is sending out to dermatology offices, I saw it todya, it looks good. Hopefully it will get things rolling. Ive even sent a ltter to newspapers, The Mom Show, Breakfast Television etc. We will see how it goes. I will keep you posted.
HI! I am from Winnipeg too! I was diagnosed with AA in 2003 when I was 18 and it progressed to universalis pretty quickly, it's amazing how fast our autoimmune system can work! Pretty proud of it, it did a god job at getting rid of even my nose hairs! lol. It has grown back completly last year and I could even put a lil' ponny tail in it!! But fell out again this year. I hope to cure whatever is out of balance in my body, I just have no clue where to start.
Hi, I too am from Winnipeg and was diagnosed with AA about three weeks ago. It's been crazy watching new spots appear out of nowhere and general hair loss is crazy scary. I;m working towards acceptance right now but man...some days are tough. would love to connect.
