Hi Valeska.
My hair loss in November was limited to my facial hair so as long as I shaved it was not noticable to others. I think it was March this year when my wife noticed a small area on the side of my head about the size of a finger nail that had no hair. By July, I was no longer able to hide my hair loss, and it has continued to keep falling out. I am now almost completely bald except for a few little islands of hair left, though these are getting smaller as well.
I have decided not to use any medications, and just let it run its course. For your son at 6 years old, this may not be an option as he is at an age where his peers may tease him a bit. How is he coping with this?
Hello Valeska,
I just found out my five year old daughter has AA. It has been hard for us. She wil be six in February. She is only missing patches of hair right now. We are praying that God will heal her.
Thanks for replying. May I ask what other treatments, if any, you have tried? I really don't want to do the injections, but she only has three noticable spots at this point. I have no clue what to do.
Hey Valeska
Your son has a wonderful smile. I am sure he gives you great strength. My own mum has had a pretty difficult time with my alopecia over the years. She felt so helpless. Spent loads of money on hypnotherapy, acupuncture, homoepathic remedies. I decided to ditch my wigs, which to her own admission, is something she disapproved of. This led me to feeling she was ashamed of me and I should cover up.
Well done you for reaching out. I hope you enjoy the site.
