Hey Christie
I've had alopecia for 30 years and I run a support group in Guelph. I don't have any dates set for the next meeting yet which will be in the spring but feel free to message me anytime and if you like I can give you my number if you want to talk. Cheers :)
Hello and welcome, Christie !
I know how hard it can be. Yes, frustrating and confusing. I have had alopecia for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" It might make you feel better. You can find out more on my page -- and let me know if there's anything else I can do!

Hi Christie, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to Alopecia World. I have been living with Alopecia Areata since 1991 and know full well the struggle it can be. I look forward to getting to know you. Cheryl, Co-founder
Hi Christie, thanks for your welcome.
I have AA from I was 5 years. sometimes I feel bed - I want to cry, but there I can find people with similar problems. It helps me to get on with AA.
Synthetics... I got one from the US - but did not like it so would not recommend it. I got some from ebay of all places! Also, I am in the UK and bought from a website called Contrast Wig Studio as the lady did some good deals. My favourite synthetic was a European Naturals Wig called Marcella, which I got bangs cut into as I was not overly comfortable with the hairline. It lasted me for 4 months wearing it to work and occasionally on the weekend. Jeezlouise is great to talk to about wigs!
My most recent wig is a full lace wig - I got that from a lady in the US. It is Chinese remy human hair. I was worried the individual hair strands might be too thick or wirey for me, but they are just right and it looks cute. You will see pics of it on my page where I am in the red cardigan.
What type of wig are you looking at? Those discount codes are great if you can use them. Anything that reduces the price is good in my opinion.
i have found that wearing sexy things, spraying pretty perfume, long earrings, a woman can still be very sexy to her partner,, all in your mind babyyyy. you know you still have the things that a man wants so go for it and dont look back girl
You are brave. I appreciate your pictures. I'm just starting with 3 spots although the hair loss does not yet want to stop. I'm not obsessed yet...but I dread the day when I have to shave my head. You look great!
I also have to tell you that I was showing my husband your pictures as I look as though I am having the same hairloss pattern as you...to a tee thus far but still have enough coverage...for now. He saw your shaved head photo and immediately said "she's beautiful" Just thought I'd pass that on. You do look fabulous in your shaved head.
Hey Christie,
How are things going with you? I had a meltdown yesterday. My hair was super dry so I was giving it a rinse with olive oil...and well the clumps of hair that were coming out were overwhelming. I just bawled...my daughter was there, and said "it's okay mommy, I'll love you anyways, and gave me a kiss". That's all that matters isn't it? But it just hit hard that this isn't going away. Today I'm better, my hubby is so supportive and loves me regardless of what happens. But I have great hair!!! I really do...why my hair??!! We're prepping to get a shaver this week and possibly hit the wig shops. Just sucks. Wanted to vent, sorry it was on your page. Hope you are doing better.

Hey Christie,
I was going to write you earlier today but our internet was not working. I too, have to say that I got off the phone feeling happier and relieved. It was so nice to put a voice to the face. It helps alot to know that others are going through this AA thing and having both happy and sad moments. it makes me feel less crazy, schizo...bipolar??!!:) We are the chosen ones!!! LUCKY US!! Hope you continue to get Hair...send a little my way too! Have a good one and hope to talk to you soon

Hi Christie,
You have a gorgeous bald head and a beautiful family. I'm sorry you have to go thought the AA rollercoaster of emotions. Can I ask where did you get your wigs and which ones are they? They are stunning!
Happy spring,
Courtney
