Have had alopecia for almost 10 years.
I don't really wear a wig, as I don't think I need to in order to fit in with anyone else.
Studying Rescue and Emergency Management Foundation Degree
I also love sports - mostly rowing, kayaking, sailing
I'm the only one in my family to have this condition, but it makes me who I am.
Hi Louise, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to Alopecia World. I have been living with Alopecia Areata since 1991 and know full well the struggle it can be. I look forward to getting to know you. Cheryl, Co-founder
Hi Louise, I think you are very brave. I first noticed bald patches at the age of 17. It went from there. At college I wore a scarf on windy day. At 25 it all fell out when I had my first child. Then I wore a wig. That was 27 years ago - no one had heard or seen any bald women then so I never thought I could possible go out bald - but when I matured at 40 I did (although I had some hair them but never very good and always patches. Then 2 years ago it all went everywhere. I am actually happier with none that bits of hair. Well done to you. I wish I had done so years ago.
I live in Exeter, Devon. Where are you?
