Hi Jenny, I wanted to welcome you to Alopecia World. I can honestly say that we are a great community here and I hope you enjoy the time you spend with us. Cheryl, co-founder
That is wonderful that you have started a support group!
I have had universalis for 20 years and also wanted to help, so I wrote a book -- maybe some of your group members would be helped by it. It's called "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" and you can find out more by going to my page.
A hug, LeslieAnn
I did respond to Heidi and told her we would be coming along on Friday. She has sent me the address and I will be borrowing hubby's sat nav to help us on our way.
If you need to contact me my mobie is 07984 271342.
ps. saw you and Claire on the news, you both looked great.
Hi Jen
Congratulations on the successful launch of your support group. Its is something I have though about doing in my area. I travel to a group in Glasgow but I am sure there are needs nearer home. I was approached recently by a young mother who's young nine year old son was loosing a lot of his hair. I was so glad to be able to help her. The doctors had told her there wasnt anything they could do for him and she was distraught. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks
Thank you Jen. I have written a few letters recently and am currently working on a pamphlet. Thanks for your words. Looking forward to 2009 to put my plans into action. There may be a national alopecia day announced by then.
Thanks for Saturday. It was really good, lots of information and help from pnk, they were really good. Hope to see you on 5th December, keep me updated on the plans. Nice to see lots of people there. I found it really helpful.
Hi Jenny, We had the vision and keeping it positive was a focus for us, and the members just ran away with it. I am very proud of what Alopecia World has become. Thanks for the encouragement, feel free to share any input. I think with alopecia being so visual, the photos are SO important, seeing people smiling and dealing with their alopecia in so many different ways.
I am afraid that I cannot get to Birmingham for your coffee morning because I am in Devon, but thank you for setting one up in England as most of the best things seem to be happening in the United States. I also loved your photos!
Hi, I’m trying to arrange a get together this coming Saturday 23rd May. Can you meet up? When I find out who can make it I’ll arrange a mid way meeting place. I’m from Exeter – please let me know which town you coming from. I can’t wait to (at long last) meet others in the flesh who have alopecia. Margaret xx
Hi Jenny, I'd love to meet up when you are walking around and about on Exmoor. Any plans as to where you will be on the Thursday evening 11th June at about 5pm. If so we could meet up. I will drive from Exeter to you. What do you think?
Margaret xx
