I'm going through my second episode with this peculuar disease. It's much worse this time. It's even affecting one third of one eye brow...hmm...what do you do w that? I'm scared. I don't want to be a victim to this...I won't be in fact...I'm just trying to figure out how to go about dealing w all these feelings w o being defeated. I've come so far. I can't give up and lay down to the defeat of my own making. I want to be confident. I want to learn how to wake up through this learning the lesson I'm to learn because right now I'm not seeing it. And I despretly want to. I admire so many of you and hope to be able to stand by you w the same elevated chin and beautiful spirit.
Hello and welcome, Magan!
I know how hard alopecia can be; I have had it for about 30 years. After I became the spokesperson for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, a lot of women were needing my help and support, so I wrote a book called, "If Your Hair Falls Out, Keep Dancing!" You can find out more on my page -- and it's available on this site under "Bookshelf." Let me know if there's anything else I can do!

Hi Magan,
I am doing okay as well, thanks for asking. How long have u had alopecia? My daughter has had it for almost half her life and she is only 7. I wish I could be brave for her sake but its just so hard sometimes when I think of what might or might not happen in regards to her hair. This is a wonderful site to belong to. You will find tons of friends and support here. If you have any questions or just need to chat just visit my page.
