    Hi Kyrie,
Alopecia is pretty new to me too. My daughter is the one with alopecia. She will be 7 next week. It is really hard watching someone you love going through this. How long have you had alopecia? I read your blog about wearing a wig or not. You should do whatever feels right or comfortable to you. I know if my daughters condition worsens I will get her a wig. Right now all her bald spots are not exposed so she doesnt have to wear one at this time. I hope to hear back from you. If you have any questions. Feel free to visit my page.

    Hi Kyrie,
I know what you mean when other people assume you have cancer because your hair is falling out. They think the same of my daughter when her bald spots show. I hope to educate other parents and children on alopecia. Have you been to a doctor yet on ways to help with regrowth? Maybe he has some ideas on what you could take. As an adult there are types of cortisones and cremes. My daughter is still too young for steroids and shots. I am sorry to here you are having a hard time with this. It will get better with time trust me. We are all in this together. I will talk to you soon.

Hi kyrie, My names Rachael and I live in Australia, and I to have alopecia. And just like you my hair fell out in patches. Its just F$@king dreadful.
I shaved the lot off - I just couldn't bare trying to cover all the patches, wearing hats, scarves, I was even doing the old man comb over - thats when I new i had to shave - its not fun -my girlfriend here in australia shaved the last few hairs off with her fanny clippers - i kidd you not
I have to say my partner is so cool with the shaved head. But shaving your head I have found does cause other problems - you will find out that the general public suck and think they have a right to say what they like to you - dont put up with it!!! tell them to fuck off and that your dying - they really back down!!! and you can get a giggle out of it
(also if you have any friend that can get there hands on a wheel chair like nurse friend - do and go to a concert - you get front row and chances are you get to go back stage!!! - ive done this) - for me shaving was the right thing to do. Its also a time of growing (not your hair) you find out how strong you really are, you find out who your friends are (ive lost some) and you have a better insight to what the general public are like and how as a society we a narrow minded, rude and abusive. I may have lost all my hair but I have gained some true friends who have been there 100% .They let me have a cry then kick me up the butt and drag me to the pub these are girls who i owe - and no amount of money would ever do!!!
stay strong - keep smiling - and if i can ever help - drop me a line - Rach
