I was diagnosed with Alopecia two years ago. I only had about 3 bald spots around the back and front of my scalp but I got steroid injections by my dermatologist and it eventually grew back. Since than I have had less hair and it's not the same as it used to but i'm still very grateful. Having Alopecia was a very hard time of my life because I loved my hair and watching it come out was very devastating. I felt as people wouldn't accept me and make fun of me for it. It was hard to cover and it looked more strange whenever I tried to cover it but it made me realize a lot about myself that I did not realize before.

    Hi Lisa,, my daughter Samantha is great and she has always had a great attitude about having Alopecia. We have been very lucky. She does a treatment that has really worked for her thus far. She has almost all of her hair back. I can only imagine how hard it may be for you some times. Flushing is a nice area, but kids sometimes are not so nice. I am alumni of Martin Van Buren in Queens Village. Do you know it? I bet I have hung out at a lot of places that you do too..write if you need anything! Cindy
