I am 21 years old. I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata when I was in 7th grade. I had one small patch on the front of my head. I used a topical solution and the hair came back. I never saw it again until summer of 2008, right before my 2nd year of college. Since then I have been suffering from alopecia areata for 3 consecutive years. Each year the patches get bigger so I have been working hard to prepare myself emotionally for the very real possibility of becoming completely bald in the not too distant future.
I hope to attend my first naaf conference this June!

I'm so glad you attended a support group and got to meet some other alopecians. I really think it makes a huge positive difference.
