It sounds like many possible sources for hair loss in your life; I hope things are much better now, and that your daughter is coping with all of the trauma in her life. My AU is strictly genetic with 2 uncles with alopecia universalis and a cousin's daughter having battled some hair loss which now seems to be in remission. My personal relationships were always supportive with few health problems so there was nothing but bad genes in this case, unless one considers allergies as a cause. I guess technically we are all allergic to our hair.
It sounds like you may still have the possibility of it growing back, but hopefully life will get better without the need for this to happen.
Have you ever attended a NAAF conference or thought about going? Susan

Welcome from another single Sue. Alopecia World does have a single's group in case you are interested in joining us.
I'm just curious; does this disease run in your family or was there any trauma associated with the hair loss?
