Just trying to learn more. My hair has been thinning for the last few years now... to the point where I don't feel comfortable wearing it down anymore. I'm not losing a lot at any given time... it just seems gradual. My doctor did all the blood tests and I've used shampoos and topical steroids...etc... but she can't figure out what's going on. If I eventually lose all of my hair... I'm ok with that, I just want to make sure everything else is ok on the inside!! It's frustrating, and I have my down moments... but it's just hair.
Hi Allison. My hair started thinning about two years ago now. I went through biopsies and treatments and even met with Vera Price at UCSF who is the leading expert on female hair losss because I didnt understand why my hair was thinning. I have come to the final conclusion after all the tests possible and vitamins and doc appts that I have adrogentic alopecia. If your blood work is normal, I feel sure you are perfectly healthy. I understand first hand how tough it can be watching your hair thin. If you ever want someone to talk to, let me know :)

Yes it can be very annoying to watch people with thick heads of hair, but i have come to not pay attention to thier heads but whats in it and their life. Are they happier because they have hair, have a better job or have better relationships. i have had to rethink things in order to realize that even though this sucks and the day they come up with something for us to get our hair back i will literally step on heads to be first in line (lol) i will not take anything else for granted and i will improve what i can (working out, going to school, clear skin) and keep pushing forward I know how you feel and if you ever want to talk i'm here
