Alicia, this site answers your question from a thousand viewpoints, over and over. Go to the newly Diagnosed Group, the archives, the Discussions, Videos and Blogs. Find people who share your mood and those whose mood or attitude you wish you had instead. Reach out to others in a positive way if you can help. You will survive, you know. We all survive. I have had alopecia since 1963, and am still alive and kickin'. They now think this is genetic (see Research), so there's not much you can do about it until a cure is discovered.
hi alicia. i've had a.u for the past six years but dealt with it throughout my childhood. looking at it in a positive light right now is tough but eventualy you'll come to terms with the fact that life doesnt change, just the way you view it changes. if anything having a.u has made me alot stronger. keep faith, this is just a little storm.
thank you alicia. i was once like you, i understand and i know you'll be just fine. somethings take longer to understand but in the end you'll be an even more beautiful stronger woman. people here are willing to listen so if you need advice we are here. wish you all the best.
