I have had alopecia universalis since 2006. I have been completely bald since with exception of two time due to prednison, which was a struggle. I am married to the best most supportive man in the world and share a beautiful lil girl with him.
hey Jen, i was diagnosed at the beginning of this year with AU. my hair started falling out in Nov 2009 and i lost all body hair within the next 6 mos. Most recently my eyebrows and eyelashes fell out so i am no hairless :/. it has def been a struggle for me i got a few shots in my scalp with no real results and am now just taking hair vitamins. im glad you have a supportive guy thank god that mine has stuck through me with this and also helps me day to day in trying to regain my self-confidence. it gets a little easier everyday but it's still hard! keep confident & enjoy your loving family :)
Hi Jen, I understand what you're going through..My daughter had it at age 8, she lost all her hair and as a mum It really hurt to see your daughter suffer..I took her to several doctors and gave her all sort of medications which didn't help her at all.. a year later, I saw this Calosol website..I read through their review and thought I have to give it a try..It's really expensive, but I was willing to pay anything for my daughter..We continously used Calosol product till she was 13 and took a photo every 3mos...The result was just amazing..Now my daughter is 14 and got all her hair back..Worth all the penny I spent on that product..
Hi! I can totally understand your feelings.I lost all my hair when I was in 2nd year of college. From having a healthy head of glossy black hair I went on to a bald scalp.I wore a scarf having decided not to hide that fact! But I was in India and a rarity. So I guess I stood out. Now 30 years later my hair has come and gone like the seasons. And I have got a kind of thick skin.If I have any advice it is just that do not let hairlessness prevent you from doing anything.Life is still exciting!!
