About Me:
I finally shaved on Dec 8th, 2012... I could no longer hide my hair loss as I lost a big chunk of my fringe.

I turned it into a fundraiser for Child Cancer and managed to get 25 others to shave with me! Together we raised over $11,000. I'm so proud of what we achieved and it helped to keep me focussed and not become big ball of self-pity.

Even so, it has been a difficult and emotional time, as I'm sure you all totally understand! I guess that's why I joined this group.

I'm staying strong and hoping the very little of what's left of my hair will fall out and my re-growth will continue.

    Hi Kate, thanks for reaching out. I think for now I am just going to stick with the make-up and try not to worry about it... It's unfortunate but thus is life. I love your pic without your hair. You look great bald. It's funny but in all the years I have had alopecia, I am just now reaching out to others with it through this site. I have never met anyone with alopecia before.
